At SPSU, we conduct Internet courses using WebCT, a powerful platform for Web-based instruction. Features include content modules for lecture notes and course information, on-line assignments, quizzes and tests, discussion boards and chat rooms.

Once a week, at the time designated in the Banner course listing, the instructor will hold a chat session with the class. This chat may range from pure text to live-voice PowerPoint presentations. Students will be able to interact with the professor live and have their questions answered. In addition, discussion boards provide a mean for asynchronous communication among students as well as the professor.

After you have registered to take an online course, and paid your fees for that course in the Business Office (678) 915-7216, your name will be downloaded onto a WebCT class roster. Your professor will then email you instructions on how to log into the WebCT course. Note that all students are given an SPSU email account, and this is the communication channel that professors use to contact students in the beginning of each semester. After the initial contact using the SPSU email account, all course communication is performed within the WebCT course environment.

Textbooks for the course (as listed on the syllabus) can be purchased from our campus bookstore (by mail), from a college bookstore near you, or from an internet bookstore.
